Most New York school districts lack AI policies
Original: Most New York school districts don't have an AI policy | NCPR News
A new report from North Country Public Radio says most school districts across New York State do not have a formal policy governing the use of artificial intelligence in classrooms. As AI tools like chatbots spread rapidly among students and teachers, districts without clear rules face uncertainty over cheating, privacy and appropriate use, prompting calls for statewide guidance.
Why now: Schools are scrambling to respond as AI tools become widely used by students faster than official policies can be written.
