The Philadelphia Phillies have dismissed hitting coach Kevin Long, who was under contract through 2028 and had spent 20 consecutive seasons as a major league hitting coach. The move follows the team's early playoff exit, and Long is expected to attract interest from other clubs given his long track record of developing productive lineups.
