Scientists are warning that polar oceans are being overlooked in current climate protection plans, according to a report from Earth.com. The warning highlights that efforts to safeguard marine environments and curb climate change often fail to account for the Arctic and Southern oceans, despite their critical role in regulating the global climate. Environmental commentators online are amplifying the story, linking it to wider concerns about politics and the climate crisis.
Why now: Growing concern that climate policy neglects polar marine ecosystems, whose fate affects the whole planet.
