UN campaign asks how everyone depends on healthy rivers
Original: would you and your friends and family depend directly or indirectly on the health of rivers? what about the # environmen
A question circulated by a UN-affiliated account asks whether people and their families depend directly or indirectly on the health of rivers, and on the environmental integrity of the seas. The answer, it argues, is that everyone does. The item points to a longer piece published by La Voce di New York covering United Nations work on water and ocean protection, framing river and sea health as a universal human dependency rather than a niche environmental concern.
Why now: United Nations messaging on water and ocean conservation is being shared, prompting discussion about humanity's dependence on freshwater and marine ecosystems.
