Amu Plaza Kumamoto, the station-linked shopping complex in Kumamoto, Japan, recorded its highest-ever sales for the first half of fiscal 2026, according to local broadcaster KAB Kumamoto Asahi Broadcasting. A major renovation planned for next spring will bring Muji (Mujirushi Ryohin) as a new tenant, seen as part of the mall's effort to build on its strong performance.
Why now: A record sales figure combined with the announcement that popular retailer Muji will open a store is notable local business news for Kumamoto.
