Dentist waiting lists grow as government ignores training advice
Original: tandarts
Dental waiting lists in the Netherlands are getting longer, and Omroep Zeeland reports that the cabinet is not acting on advice to expand dental training programmes. With fewer dentists being trained, access to care is becoming harder for patients across the country. The report has drawn attention to the gap between expert recommendations and actual government policy on tackling the shortage.
Why now: Concerns about longer waits for dental appointments and an unaddressed shortage of dentists are topical in the Netherlands
