Siri AI not coming to original HomePod mini after all

Original: No, Siri AI is not coming to the original HomePod mini Siri AI is a tentpole addition to HomePod mini 2, but a CNET repo

A CNET report initially claimed Apple's new AI-powered Siri would come to the original HomePod mini as well as the new model. The story has since been corrected: Siri AI is a key feature exclusive to the second-generation HomePod mini, and older units will not receive it. The episode highlights confusion around which devices will support Apple's upgraded assistant as the new speaker launches.

Why now: Buyers of the original HomePod mini want to know if their device will get Apple's new AI features.
