Corvette Chief Engineer Confirms Electric Corvette Still Planned
Original: Corvette Top Engineer Says EVs Are The End Game, Electric Vette Still Happening
A top Corvette engineer says electric power is the end game for the nameplate and that an electric Corvette is still happening, despite industry-wide slowdowns in EV rollouts. The comments suggest Chevrolet remains committed to electrifying its flagship sports car eventually, even as demand for battery vehicles cools in the United States and rivals delay their own EV plans.
Why now: Automakers are delaying EV plans, so confirmation that Chevrolet still intends to electrify the Corvette is notable news for car enthusiasts.
