Original: 'My desire has changed' - Sir Gareth Southgate rules out Premier League return as former England boss explains why he walked away from football
Sir Gareth Southgate has ruled out a return to Premier League management, saying 'my desire has changed' as he explained why he walked away from football. The former England manager stepped down after leading the national team to consecutive European Championship finals, and his comments suggest he is in no rush to take a new club job despite expected interest.
Why now: Southgate was one of the most prominent free managers in football, so his comments on his future naturally draw wide attention.
