Jean-Baptiste Kempf, president of VideoLAN and lead developer of VLC, publicly praised kew, a terminal-based music player, saying "kew is great". The developer shared updates including Winamp-style MilkDrop/ProjectM audio visualizations now running in the terminal, with a demo preview released. The endorsement from one of open source media's best-known figures is drawing attention to the small project.
