Elon Musk has suggested the US government was responsible for restrictions on Starlink's use in Ukraine, according to a Guardian live report covering the Ukraine-Russia war. His claim, aired alongside ongoing coverage involving Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, reignites debate over how much control Washington has had over the satellite network that is critical to Ukraine's battlefield communications.
Why now: Musk's claim about secret US government involvement in limiting Starlink for Ukraine touches on the contested politics of Western military support.
