Original: AI, resources and water bombers: Draft document maps Canada, EU path to closer ties
A draft document outlines a path to deeper cooperation between Canada and the European Union, with artificial intelligence, natural resources and joint procurement of water bombers for wildfire defence among the areas flagged. The text maps out how the two partners could strengthen economic and security links at a time when both are looking to diversify their key alliances.
Why now: Ongoing efforts by Canada and the EU to formalise closer partnership have drawn attention to the leaked or published draft framework.
