Evensong praised as uplifting ritual for all faiths
Original: Evensong is a superbly uplifting ritual, no matter your religion
Classical Music argues that choral evensong, the Anglican service of evening prayer with sung liturgy, offers a profoundly uplifting experience regardless of the listener's religious beliefs. The piece highlights the service's music, atmosphere and accessibility, suggesting non-believers can appreciate the ritual as fully as regular worshippers.
Why now: Renewed interest in choral music and shared cultural rituals has prompted writers to champion evensong as an experience open to everyone.
