Ukraine to resume strikes on Russian refineries, Zelenskyy says

Original: Following a brief truce, Zelenskyy says Ukraine will resume strikes on Russian refineries

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Ukraine will resume strikes on Russian oil refineries following what he described as a brief truce. The announcement signals an escalation after a pause in Ukraine's campaign targeting Russian energy infrastructure, a strategy Kyiv has used to pressure Moscow's economy and war effort. The development is drawing wide attention as observers watch whether Russia responds with renewed attacks of its own.

Why now: The resumption of strikes on Russian energy targets marks a potential escalation in the war following the short-lived pause.
