Zelenskyy Orders New Strikes on Russian Refineries Despite Trump Pressure
Original: Zelenskyy Defies Trump, Orders New Russian Refinery Attacks
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has ordered a new wave of attacks on Russian oil refineries, a move reported by Bloomberg as defying pressure from Donald Trump, who has urged Kyiv to halt strikes on Russian energy infrastructure. The long-range drone campaign targets Russia's refining capacity, and the decision signals Ukraine is unwilling to scale back operations despite appeals from Washington.
Why now: Tensions between Zelenskyy and Trump over Ukraine's strategy against Russian energy targets are making headlines.
