Epic Games has released a preview of its new launcher for the Epic Games Store on Linux, developed with heavy use of AI coding agents, an approach described as 'vibe coding'. The company reportedly also plans to port Fortnite to Linux. Commenters note the surprise, as official Epic support for Linux has long been limited, and debate the role of AI in making the port feasible.
Why now: Epic officially supporting Linux again, using AI agents to do it, is unexpected news for the Linux gaming community.
