Democrats weigh Supreme Court reform
Democrats are discussing possible reforms to the US Supreme Court, with proposals reportedly including term limits for justices, an expanded bench, and a binding ethics code. Supporters argue the court's legitimacy has been damaged by ethics controversies and sweeping rulings, while Republicans frame the push as an attempt to reshape a conservative-leaning court. The debate remains largely exploratory, with no consensus on specific measures or their prospects.
Why now: Concern over the court's conservative majority and ethics controversies has renewed debate within the party about structural changes.
