Melenchon clashes with 'slopulism' critics online

Original: Melenchon really tests my patience for slopulism

Jean-Luc Melenchon, the French left-wing politician and leader of La France Insoumise, is being accused online of 'slopulism' — a slang blend of slop and populism, suggesting repetitive, low-quality populist messaging. The remark came from a French-speaking user and drew significant engagement, reflecting ongoing frustration among some left-wing voters with Melenchon's communication style and political strategy.

Why now: Melenchon remains a polarising figure on the French left, prompting regular online debates about his rhetoric and tactics.
