Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine has resumed its strikes on Russian oil refineries, targeting facilities that fund Moscow's war effort. The renewed campaign comes as peace efforts involving the United States continue, and it has drawn attention online, with many commenters reading it as a message of defiance toward both Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump's push for a negotiated settlement.
Why now: Ukraine's resumed long-range strikes on Russian energy targets signal Kyiv is not slowing the war despite ongoing US-led peace diplomacy involving Trump.
