Zack Polanski sparks row over British attitudes to migrants

Green politician Zack Polanski has triggered an angry online debate after accusing Britain of hostility towards migrants and refugees. In remarks circulated widely on social media, he claimed many British people 'want to see foreigners drown' and branded those who reject that view 'race traitors', arguing the Government has taken a side in the debate. Reaction has been sharply divided, with supporters backing his criticism of immigration policy and critics calling the language extreme.

Why now: His provocative comments about immigration come amid ongoing national controversy over small boats and refugee policy.
