Sajed Al-Far, a Palestinian man from Qalqilya in the occupied West Bank, was released today after spending a year in Israeli prisons. Side-by-side images of him before and after his release circulated widely, with commentators describing visible signs of deterioration in his condition and linking his case to the broader treatment of Palestinian detainees held in Israeli detention.
Why now: Images showing his apparent physical deterioration after a year in Israeli detention resonate with ongoing debate over Palestinian prisoners' treatment.
