NBA GMs Overlook Division-Winning Hawks in East Rankings
Original: NBA GMs Leave Hawks Out of East Rankings After Division-Winning Season
Despite winning their division last season, the Atlanta Hawks were left out of the Eastern Conference rankings in the NBA's annual survey of general managers. The omission has raised eyebrows among fans and analysts, who see it as a slight against a team that topped the Southeast Division, and it has fueled debate about how seriously the Hawks are taken as contenders.
Why now: The annual NBA GM survey rankings were just released, and the Hawks' exclusion despite winning their division struck fans as a notable snub.
