Freedom Foundation Accuses Teamsters Local 2010 of Trapping University Workers
Original: Freedom Foundation Charges Teamsters Local 2010 with Trapping University Workers in the union
The Freedom Foundation has filed charges against Teamsters Local 2010, accusing the union of trapping University of California workers by blocking them from leaving. The group, which campaigns against public-sector unionism, says workers are being denied a genuine choice about membership. The union has not responded publicly in the available coverage.
Why now: Ongoing disputes over union dues, opt-out rights and worker choice at US public universities keep this kind of legal challenge in the spotlight.
