Police in Germany have seized a humanoid robot belonging to a teenage boy after it was allegedly used to grope a teenage girl during a livestream. The boy, or possibly someone else with access to the robot, is under investigation. The case is drawing attention as a rare example of criminal scrutiny over who is responsible for a robot's physical actions.
Why now: The unusual question of legal responsibility when a robot is used to commit physical misconduct against a person is prompting wide discussion.
