Rees-Mogg asks: milk or a runway?
Original: Do you want Milk or a Runway?
British Conservative politician Jacob Rees-Mogg posed a pointed question comparing dairy farming with airport runway construction, asking audiences whether they would prefer 'milk or a runway'. The remark is being read as a jab at airport expansion plans, likely the debate over a third runway at Heathrow, which pits infrastructure projects against protected farmland and green-belt concerns. Reaction has been lively, with supporters backing his defence of rural land and critics accusing him of blocking growth.
Why now: The UK government is pushing airport expansion while critics highlight the loss of farmland, making the trade-off a live political argument.
