Trump says Pentagon will not livestream Fort Hood shooter's execution

Original: Trump, after bipartisan backlash, says Pentagon won't livestream execution of Fort Hood shooter

President Trump said the Pentagon will not livestream the execution of the Fort Hood shooter after a bipartisan backlash against plans to broadcast it. Critics from both parties had condemned the idea of streaming the death row proceeding, and the announcement marks a reversal following that opposition.

Why now: The decision follows rare bipartisan criticism of the Pentagon's plan, making the reversal newsworthy.
