Calls Grow for 24-Team College Football Playoff
Original: College Football Playoff 24-team expansion
Discussion is building around a proposed expansion of the College Football Playoff from its current format to a 24-team field. Supporters argue a larger bracket would give more conferences and mid-major programs a realistic path to the national title, while critics worry it would dilute the regular season and overburden players. The idea is circulating widely among fans and commentators debating the future of postseason football.
Why now: Ongoing debate over the optimal size of the College Football Playoff has put this expansion proposal at the center of sports conversation.
