Original: Sally Rooney Books Pulled Over Ties to Palestine Action https:// time.com/article/2026/10/15/sa lly-rooney-palestine-act
Books by Irish author Sally Rooney have been pulled in the UK over her ties to Palestine Action, the proscribed activist group. The move has sparked debate across the publishing world and beyond, with discussion touching on free expression, terrorism proscription laws, and Rooney's longstanding advocacy around Gaza and Palestine. Readers and writers in the UK, Ireland and elsewhere are weighing in on both sides.
Why now: The withdrawal of a prominent author's books over alleged links to a proscribed group has ignited controversy about censorship and free speech.
