NASA's Venus missions back on track after cancellation threat
Original: Things are finally looking up for NASA's first missions to Venus in a generation
NASA's DAVINCI and VERITAS missions, the agency's first trips to Venus in more than three decades, are reportedly back on track after facing threats of cancellation. The Ars Technica report describes the missions as having been embattled but now recovering, marking a turning point for US exploration of Earth's hellish neighbour, which has seen little dedicated American spacecraft activity since Magellan in the 1990s.
Why now: Reports that missions once threatened with cancellation have been saved are drawing attention from space enthusiasts concerned about the future of Venus exploration.
