Anti-Drug Activist Murder Puts Punjab's AAP Government Under Pressure

Original: Anti-Drug Activist Murder Puts AAP Govt. In A Spot | Kejriwal's ‘Chitta’ Free Punjab Promise A Lie?

The murder of an anti-drug activist in Punjab has put the Aam Aadmi Party government in a difficult position, with critics questioning Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's promise to make the state free of 'chitta', the synthetic opioids driving its drug crisis. Commentary is asking whether the pledge to eradicate drugs holds up given the killing of someone campaigning against them.

Why now: The killing of a drug-abuse activist directly challenges the AAP government's flagship anti-drug promises, prompting debate over its failure.
