Wyoming wildlife managers clash with hunters over Roadless Rule
Original: Wyoming wildlife managers want to nix the Roadless Rule. Hunters and anglers want to keep it.
Wyoming's wildlife managers are pushing to end the federal Roadless Rule, which restricts road construction across millions of acres of national forest. Hunters and anglers in the state are pushing back, arguing the rule protects backcountry habitat and the hunting and fishing opportunities that depend on it. The dispute has drawn coverage across Wyoming and regional outlets in Montana.
Why now: State wildlife officials and the hunting and angling community are publicly split over a rule that shapes access to Wyoming's national forests.
