Singapore names seven firms over Indonesian wildfire haze

Original: Singapore has identified seven companies it says were involved in wildfires in Indonesia that are choking the city-state

Singapore has identified seven Indonesian companies it says are linked to wildfires whose haze is blanketing the city-state, according to the Business Times. The move escalates pressure over the annual transboundary haze crisis, a recurring point of friction between the two neighbours, and raises the prospect of legal or commercial action against the firms involved.

Why now: Recurring haze from Indonesian fires is a major public health and political concern in Singapore whenever burning season spikes.
