Ukraine Rushes to Defend Against Russia's Jet-Powered Drones
Original: Ukraine Hurries to Build Defenses Against Russia’s Jet-Powered Drones
Ukraine is accelerating efforts to build air defenses capable of countering Russia's jet-powered drones, which fly faster and higher than the Shahed-type drones that have dominated attacks. The new generation of Russian drones is harder to intercept, pushing Ukraine to expand mobile fire teams, electronic warfare, and interceptor programs as strikes on cities and energy infrastructure continue.
Why now: Russia's deployment of faster jet-powered drones marks an escalation in the air war that current Ukrainian defenses struggle to stop.
