Labor board won't block California state worker strike
Original: Labor board won’t block California state worker strike
California's public sector labor board has declined to block a planned strike by state workers, clearing the way for the job action to proceed. The decision means tens of thousands of state employees could walk off the job, potentially disrupting services across California. Unions have been pressing for better pay and conditions, and the ruling removes a key legal obstacle to the strike going ahead.
Why now: The labor board's refusal to intervene removes a legal barrier to a strike that could disrupt state services.
