Original: Livestreamers Film Themselves Using Humanoid Robot to Sexually Assault Teen Girl, Prompting Police to Seize the Bot
Police have seized a humanoid robot after two livestreamers allegedly filmed themselves using the machine to sexually assault a teenage girl. The case is drawing attention to the absence of clear legal frameworks for crimes involving robots and to how far makers of humanoid machines should control what their products can be used for.
Why now: The shocking novelty of an alleged assault carried out with a humanoid robot and streamed live raises unanswered legal and ethical questions.
