Meta suspends No Kings account amid protest tension
Original: Meta locks No Kings account
Meta has locked the No Kings account, sparking immediate reaction from activists and observers who see it as part of a broader pattern of platforms restricting protest-linked organizing online. Supporters of the No Kings movement say the suspension disrupts coordination ahead of planned demonstrations, while others await clarification from Meta on what policy triggered the action and whether it will be reversed.
Why now: People are discussing it because the suspension of a protest movement's account raises concerns about political censorship and platform power over organizing.
