Knicks waive Bruce Brown, keep James Wiseman ahead of opener
The New York Knicks have waived guard Bruce Brown, opting to keep center James Wiseman on the roster ahead of their season opener. The move finalizes the team's opening-night roster decisions. Brown, a veteran guard, becomes a free agent and is expected to draw interest elsewhere. The choice of Wiseman, a former No. 2 overall pick, over Brown signals the Knicks' preference for frontcourt depth going into the new season.
Why now: Roster cuts just before the season opener affect the Knicks' rotation and spark debate over whether they made the right call.
