Original: Way ahead of you # Guardian all the more reason to reconsider electric # cars https://www. theguardian.com/world/2026/oc
The Guardian has published a report on Chile's Atacama salt flat, examining how lithium extraction for the green energy transition is reshaping the region and local communities. Readers are sharing the piece as fresh ammunition in the argument that the environmental cost of electric cars deserves more scrutiny, with some pointing back to earlier warnings about the industry's extractive frontiers.
