Russian Bot Activity Plunges 84% After Strikes on Yandex Data Centers
Original: Russian Bot Activity Collapses by 84% After Strikes on Yandex Data Centers
Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation reports that Russian bot activity dropped by 84% following strikes on Yandex data centers. According to the analytical report, the infrastructure outage left large-scale automated accounts unable to operate, offering evidence of how heavily pro-Russian influence operations rely on domestic server capacity. Analysts say the findings highlight the role of critical digital infrastructure in information warfare.
Why now: The dramatic drop in bot activity after a physical strike suggests disruption of Russian disinformation infrastructure, which is newsworthy for information warfare watchers.
