Free Office and Adobe Alternatives Spark Mixed Reactions
Original: I've Never Been This Amazed and This Appalled at the Same Time - Free Office & Adobe Clones Out Now!
New free alternatives to Microsoft Office and Adobe's creative suite have been released, drawing strong reactions from software commentators. Reviews describe the software as simultaneously impressive in capability and concerning, likely over how closely these clones imitate paid industry-standard products and what that means for the companies behind them. The unusually polarised response has fuelled wide discussion among users weighing free tools against established paid software.
Why now: The sudden availability of capable free clones of expensive Office and Adobe software is surprising and disruptive to the paid software market.
