Original: 🕵️ Latest from # Surveillance # Technology Oversight Project (S.T.O.P.) # NYC “ICE protestors in Maine found their data
The Surveillance Technology Oversight Project reports that people who protested against ICE in Maine found their personal data entered into Palantir's Gotham-based ICM system, which automatically shares information with Customs and Border Protection. Civil liberties advocates say the case shows how protest activity can feed into immigration and border enforcement databases, raising concerns about surveillance of political activity.
Why now: Concerns are growing over Palantir's role in immigration enforcement and the surveillance of protestors.
