Noem stands by 'terrorism' remarks about Alex Pretti at Senate hearing
Original: Noem declines to retract 'terrorism' comments about Alex Pretti during Senate hearing
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem refused to retract comments labeling Alex Pretti's actions as terrorism during a Senate hearing. The exchange drew attention as lawmakers pressed her on the characterization, and she defended the terminology despite questions about its accuracy and legal implications.
Why now: A cabinet secretary's refusal to back down from a terrorism accusation before senators is politically contentious and newly newsworthy.
