Hirshland expects more dispersed Olympic Games
Original: Hirshland expects more dispersed Games
Sarah Hirshland, chief executive of the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee, has said she expects future Olympic Games to be more dispersed, with events spread across multiple locations rather than concentrated in a single host city. The comments feed into an ongoing debate about the rising cost and complexity of staging the Games, and follow moves such as Los Angeles 2028 planning events across a wide region.
Why now: Olympic officials are actively discussing how future Games should be hosted amid cost pressures.
