Berlin Greens criticise CDU over openness to AfD majorities

Cem Özdemir of the Berlin Greens is accused of sniping at the Left party while the CDU in the Reinickendorf district of Berlin signals it is open to forming majorities with the AfD. Commenters see the Union drifting to the right, warning that this fuels antisemitism and that steering against it matters, including for Jewish people in Germany.
Why now: The CDU's stance on cooperating with the AfD at local level is a controversial and politically sensitive issue in Germany right now.
