A football fan in Germany reports attending RTL's NFL watch party, a live viewing event the broadcaster is hosting around an NFL game involving the New York Jets and the Detroit Lions. The mention underlines how American football keeps growing in Germany, with mainstream broadcasters like RTL investing in community viewing events for the sport.

Why now: German broadcasters are leaning into the NFL's growing popularity, and live watch parties give fans a shared event to talk about.
