Geese in Helsinki cross the street like locals
Original: Am Rande der Innenstadt von Helsinki nutzen Gänse den Überweg wie selbstverständlich. Sie scheinen längst gelernt zu hab
On the edge of central Helsinki, geese are using pedestrian crossings as a matter of course, apparently having learned that the city runs through their habitats. The birds find food and nesting sites in the Finnish capital's waters and parks, and move confidently through the urban space. Observers are charmed by how naturally wildlife has adapted to city life.
Why now: The striking image of geese calmly using a crosswalk in Helsinki is being shared as a charming example of urban wildlife adapting to city life.
