Documents reveal Israel's role in Qatari aid to Gaza
Original: Documents reveal Israel’s role in Qatari aid to Gaza — TIME
Newly surfaced documents published by TIME indicate that Israel played a direct role in facilitating Qatari aid shipments to Gaza, including cash transfers that critics say strengthened Hamas's control of the enclave. The reporting has reignited debate over Israeli policy toward Gaza before the current war, with commentators questioning why Jerusalem allowed, and at times encouraged, the funding flow, and what it says about the deeper failures behind October 7.
Why now: The revelation that Israel itself helped channel Qatari money into Gaza is politically explosive and reshapes debate over pre-war policy toward Hamas.
