British SAS soldiers were reportedly arrested over an alleged murder committed while hunting ISIS militants in Syria, then sent back to the warzone just 48 hours later. The case has raised questions about oversight of special forces operations abroad and how serious allegations against elite troops are handled. The report, carried by the Mirror, has drawn attention to the secrecy surrounding UK special forces deployments against Islamic State.
Why now: The unusual decision to return arrested soldiers to active duty within 48 hours has sparked debate about accountability for special forces.
