Eagles place Jalen Hurts on injured reserve with blood clot

Original: jalen hurts

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has been placed on injured reserve after being diagnosed with a blood clot, sidelining him as the NFL season heads toward its decisive stretch. Reports also say the team tried to re-sign veteran Andy Dalton as backup depth, but he declined, leaving Tanner McKee in line to start in Hurts' absence.

Why now: Hurts is a star quarterback, and his abrupt injury absence threatens the Eagles' season and has sparked debate about the backup plan.
