Hacker News users report spam wave from hiring thread
Original: Tell HN: Massive amount of spam from "Who Wants to be hired"
A Hacker News user reports receiving a massive amount of spam connected to the 'Who Wants to be hired' monthly thread, where job seekers post their details publicly. Recruiters and automated accounts are said to be harvesting contact information from the thread and sending unsolicited mass messages. The complaint is drawing attention to how the community's hiring format may be enabling abuse.
Why now: The popular hiring thread exposes public contact details, and a surge of spam targeting participants has frustrated users.
